I made myself a seat of that material. First some sturdy metal sheet that I shaped to my butt's liking, then covered it with this type of material, one inch (2,5 centimeters) thick. Then some black leather. It works like a bicycle seat - I can sit on it forever, it feels. A seat that is too softly padded is worse than a very hard seat in the long run.
But asses differ, of course...
